Fraternal Group Carlos Murion

Fraternal Group Carlos Murion aims to provide assistance to people in situations of social risk, with the collaboration of volunteers from Cidade da Luz, with sporadic trips to the streets of the city, and permanent assistance to residents of areas with irregular land occupation, poor communities, as well as other institutions (shelters and asylums), offering medical and dental care in the ambulatory Dr. Bezerra de Menezes.

We distribute snacks, food staples baskets, clothing, medicines under medical prescription, body hygiene, bedding, shoes, household goods, household appliances, etc.

The purpose of the Group is to sensitize the heart of its assisted, giving attention, affection, solidarity and support to people in social vulnerability.

Another action of the Group is to make some improvements in residences of people with low income (minor renovations).

Members of MORHAN and APALBA, who have leprosy and are albinos, are continuously monitored with the supply of food, medication and emotional support.

In addition, there are friendly gatherings on commemorative dates, such as the Christmas meal that takes place on December 24, when it gathers about 200 assisted, who receive gifts, participate in raffles and other games, with animators and professional musicians.

The Fraternal Group team meets every Monday at 7:30 pm at the home of one of the team members, when they do the gospel and draw up action plans.

On the last Sunday of the month, the Group also meets in Cidade da Luz at 1:30 pm, does the gospel and then goes out to visit a needy institution previously contacted, seeking in the opportunity, to meet their basic needs.

The resources for the cost of the demands come from the group itself, external donations, and solidarity sale of second-hand items.
